The Country Store is an on-campus thrift shop located at the Richmond State Supported Living Center, next to the Community Relations office. The store provides opportunities for our residents to learn life skills such as shopping, cash handling, appropriate behavior in public and much more.
The store is open to staff and residents (and Volunteers!) two days a week for regular shopping. Income generated by the Country Store helps provide funding for the Volunteer Services Council of Richmond SSLC . Funds raised are used to enrich and enhance the lives of the individuals living with Intellectual and/or Developmental Disabilities that call Richmond home.
Additionally, staff may request items from the store for use with or for our residents at not cost - for example, most of the costumes featured by our resident performers for the annual Music Festival are donations through the Country Store.
